For those that have tried several treble boosters how does the sparkle motion compare to other current production ones like the naga viper or arc gamut? I am looking to get a treble boost for a voxy amp. Or maybe I go the DIY route.

good question! i've had a few people email/PM in the past saying that they liked the sparkle a bit more than other treble boosts because it was a bit more versatile. DIY is always simple with a treble boost though!

Yeah, they're super easy to DIY! I like the sparkle motion a lot more than the DIY rangemaster I made, I find it much more versatile and generally nicer sounding. I only added one extra control for the input cap though and just used whatever transistor I had lying around (no idea how much difference that makes), so I'm sure you could make something more similar to the sparkle motion yourself easily enough.

i posted the schematic i used on my blog, by the way - here's the repost if you want to DIY. i'm going to start making new ones a little differently anyways.
