True bypass looper / feedback looper problem!?!

Dear,

First of all i would like to wish you and your loved ones a HAPPY NEW YEAR with lots of love, health, happiness and peace!! :haha:

Second, I have this question about a true bypass looper, feedback looper pedal i'm building.

I'm building a true bypass looper, feedback looper using a diagram from the website of Beavis Audio Research for myself. (It's on the "tech" page)(I'm building the "True Bypass Loop with LED Indicator and a Feedback Mixer") And now i'm done and it is working perfectly!! So i'm really happy about that. It's the first working pedal i've ever build :omg:

After playing with the pedal for a while, i came up with the idea to add a "photo eye", like in the Devi Ever "Eye Of God" pedal, in it. Now i'm connecting the LDR from the tip of the IN (jack) to the tip of the OUT (jack) with an SPDT switch in between to make it a switchable feature. This works great but i experience a hum in the pedal when i have connected it like that :(

Finally the question; is there a way to connect the "photo eye" differently so i don't get a hum in the pedal? Or is there a way to get rid of the hum? I really hope you people want and can help me! :hello:

Thanxxx,

Nejra

P.S. I'm sorry for any spelling and / or grammatical mistakes. English is my second language since i'm from the Netherlands
