gearmandude cc review

I know it's great publicity for Ryan and maybe helps get the cc out there a bit more, but was anybody else disappointed with the review?
Don't get me wrong the chap can play!
But I would have thought a key component in reviewing a pedal is learning how to use it before turning the camera on!
He seemed to spend more time twiddling than anything else?
then no comment at the end or any info saying the v3 is out soon,
I dunno I was a bit disappointed really.
The chap does seem to struggle with modulation so maybe it's something he just can't get a feel for??!

Have you watched any of his other demos?

The only kind of pedal he's qualified to demo are dirt boxes.

IT sounds typical of his demos. I get the impression he doesnt even try the pedal before he turns the camera on. Typically not helpful.

I've never even made a sex tape let alone made a pedal review vid watched by thousands!
But if I were so inclined I think I'd at least write a few settings down so I knew where to go whilst the cameras rolling!

Roll on bretts v3 vid!!!
Hope he gets Sadie involved too shes ace!

Yeah, if I want to get a basic sense of a pedal, I watch Brett. If I want to be just mildly amused, I watch GMD. Kingman knows what he's doing and he's funnier.

Burgs is rad. He always finds good tones and good ways of expressing those tones.

He's not even qualified for that, he just sucks so damn much.

I was feeling generous, it being Christmastime and all.

Ya, I'm not impressed with GMDs demos.

Even with dirt boxes, a lot of times I'll notice that he'll rarely move the tone knob.
He usually uses them pretty dark and doesn't tweak the tone knob enough to give you the sense of the top end.
Meh.

Gimme Burgs or Mike.
Good exposure for Dr S though.

I really do hope Andy does one too. He killed with the elements, he also does great renditions of rad songs.

Yeah I hate it when gmd never touches the depal and just plays in one setting for minutes. Doesn't help anyone. At least he's better than the toneking, but who isn't? "Alrighty boys nd girls, gimme me one of those bad boys \m/ right here..."

Don't like Andy with dirt, his fingerpicking just doesn't compare to a pick, no matter how much they hype his style. But he's good with mod and delay/reverb!

Burgs and Mike are the best, they know exactly what to play and to show!

I bought my Fuzzy Lady because of the Dude and his demo...and I'm more than happy.
But yeah, he's not very subtle.
And you're right, Burgs and Mike are the best, by far!!!

I'll have to add Just Nick to the good reviewers crowd.

I enjoy his ramblings as much as his playing.

I'm not always a fan of Nick's ramblings, though they're quite often entertaining of themselves, but his playing's usually well done.
