Just waiting on some knobs and my silver ink for my rubber stamps.

I made the PCB from a Madbean transfer on black laminate copper clad.

Sweet. I made a vero version a while back that's been floating around for a while. I really like the circuit!

The fuzz is not bad at all and you can get some very subtle and yummy modulation to it. I think I'm going to find it pretty usable.

I modded mine to have a gain pot on the fuzz, so you could set it up to be either a clean or dirty Clarinot. I had a footswitch and a gain knob, so you could go from max'd to whatever it was on the knob. Came in handy, it sounds beautiful when clean too

Is the gain knob tied to pin 1 & 8 of the LM386 IC? I wouldn't mind doing this mod also.

Search for it at DIYstompboxes, there's a toner transfer for a pcb that has several mods including the fuzz lift. Lately, I'm using mine clean and just running what ever fuzz I want pre Clari. I like my Tone Machine into it a lot. Double beat is good too. Genius fucked up circuit, might be my fave....

Is that transfer process laborious?

Its not hard at all, you just need some stuff to start out with. What I did when I was first starting out was I hit up Radio Shack and bought a small copper clad board and some ferric chloride solution and just give it a try. If you like the process then you can save some money when you buy better copper clad and the ferric chloride is reusable.

Here was my second attempt at making PCBs and I tried to layout the process. http://music.codydeschenes.com/?p=539

If you notice at the end of my blog post I used the wrong drill bit. I just drilled it with what I had on hand just to try it out.

All in all, I like etching boards WAY more than I like doing outboard wiring. I would love to make the PCSs and then populate them and have someone else box them up. lol

I think offboard wiring is my least favorite part as well. Thanks for the advice.

I missed your post. Thanks for the link. I forgot Mark did a vero for this. I'll see if I can incorperate some of the mods on the Madbeans transfer.

Thanks
