Monotribe?

Thinking about getting a monotribe. Anybody have any insight? I have little to know drum machine/sequencer experience and would love to have something relatively simple that is still capable of a decent amount of things.

They Are Fun and Fantastic but it's more like an add on to a regular set up and not so much a first timers only synth type thing... The Drum sounds can't be changed but you can upgrade it to 16 step and add rolls so it can get funky... It's super hackable and really a joy to play with but if it's ALL you had you might get a lil board with it... The Sample and Hold feature is about all I play with now cause it's sooo fun to have R2D2 in a box...

One of the older Korgs or any of the Roland MC series... I Love my MC-307 and you can find 303's, 505's, and even 909's for cheap now, MC that is... Check for Groovebox or Korg or Roland and you should find something that'll help you get yo Techno Wizard on...

electribe electribe electribe
they are super fun, affordable and easy to use/learn on, but also full featured so u can grow into it.
maschine?
also, kind of random suggestion but if u have a nintendo ds...korg ds10 is an awesome synth/drum machine. similar but more flexible than the monotribe.

MC-303 - most annoying POS i've ever owned. if you want a lil' workshop with more options and without spending much more than a monotribe oughta go for an electribe. i never cared for the EA's but the EM-1 was a pretty sweet combo. ES's are great too.

yea i hear ya soni. i bet its actually cool too. had a lot of decent sounds. i just didnt hold on to it for that long because of that one thing. its more a personal preference than a swipe at the boxes.
u know me, I LOVE TOYS. they are sometimes better and get more use by me than more "professional" products...
i record on a spongebob toy mic that i bought at toys r us.
