help me decide on a delay :)

i currently use a dd20 and i have a memory boy that i never use on the shelf.
i want to change my delay to something a bit more 'organic' or 'real' sounding than the dd20, i like a bit of grit and modulation but i still like being able to dial in what i want
at the moment i am looking at the el cap or a lunar echo or a montavillian plus single boss delay
i want:
- trails
- 'big' sound that sounds good/natural
- tap (possibly)
- mod
- i think infinite trails like the el cap would be cool but not necessary
let me know what you think

I would suggest this one:

If budget is not an issue:
MOOG MF-104M

^ That Subdecay is interesting for sure.
If you're considering the Lunar Echo and Montavillian, I'd also have a look at the Echorec. Thing sounds really incredible. If it was more full featured (tap/expression/stereo) it would be insane!

I just got the Diamond MLJr. It's awesome! And for more fun, I contacted Diamond and they said it might be possible to mod an effects loop in! No feedback/crazy oscillation but it does everything else I need it to. It's got tap, trails, modulation, natural sound? - it sharp enough for rhythmic stuff, and long tails. Not infinite but long. Much clearer than an el cap. And when I want dirty, hopefully I can get an effects loop put it in with a compressor or od or something. I like it so far. Only had it for about a week.

You know...after people demanded it enough, he caved and made the Semaphore tap tempo! and it's teeny now, have you seen 'em?

Seriously, I don't...
get trails. Can someone explain dees to me?
But that Subdecay should be siiick. His Echobox kicked so much ass so I'm sure it's gonna even more.
Maybe you could get like a Boss delay (some of 'em got tap tempos, and you can wire a lil momentary switch on top of the case for it. Super simple mod) and then like the Echorec or Anamnesis. Or, to be honest, I love the Hardwire DL8. It sits soooo well in every mix (and i bass). Or if you get something like the Malekko 600 series, the toanz'll suck you in FOR GOOD.
Orrrrr...

I don't think you could go wrong with either the El Cap or Lunar Echo. Not that I have personal experience with the Lunar Echo, but it's on the short list of delays I'd potentially add as a third.

I own a Tech 21 Nova Delay and I'm pretty happy with it so far. It has all of these features. I'm not 100% in love with it though. the Anamnesis Echo, Lunar Echo, and Diamond Memory Lane are other delays that seem awesome to me

The Lunar is amazing, but it's not for everyone. It can get real dirty very fast (not that it's a problem), but if you're looking for something for longer delays, I'd look elsewhere. It's my favorite delay ever, and it's got a ton of features, but like I said, don't expect a super clean sounding analog delay. It's fat, the modulation can get weird, and the take off switch is sweet. But if you're trying to be U2, you're gonna have a bad time.

I was going to suggest an echobox
or as per usual everything you want to do can be done with a digitech timebender

Lunar echo's good. Echolution is great. That is all.
If you're looking for some other pedals that aren't dirt, I'm kinda super liking the m9/m13.

I will second the m9. Have the option for true bypass or buffered if you want the trails.
Along with tap
Modulation
Everything you listed basically

El cap, Echorec, or Memory Lane Jr.

I don't get the Lunar Love, it's a $300 handmade pedal with some iffiyness around it...
Go for the El Cap, I just did a couple of tracks yesterday and ran them through the El Cap to record then ran the whole song through the El Cap and re-recorded that and then did it again... Once you get into the secondary functions you can get it to sound however you want, it'll do clean repeats or dirty wobbly ones depending on tape age and bias... I've been using it with the Reverb all the way up and delay all the way down for some craziness too...

thanks for the suggestions guys

definitely considering the mljr, el cap and anemesis
haven't thought about the m9 in a long time
i was really keen on the echorec but its not my thing
anemesis + dd7 is looking like my best option now
