So I don't often see too much looper/midi discussion here, but this is the only board I really frequent, so I figured I would give it a shot. I know there are some other timeline users on here and some DMC users, but this new DPC thing seems pretty awesome to me. A less expensive Musicomlab EFX thinger.
I emailed the Disaster guy (very quick response, very in depth, excellent customer service, and sent me a rough copy of the unfinished manual) and he answered a bunch of questions for me because the description on the website isn't very good for a MIDI fool like myself. Here are the quick highlights I have in the pro column for this pedal (I'm debating over saving up and blowing money on a Musicomlab (least likely option) or a PEAK FCB4n2 INFO HERE):
- Can control two midi devices at the same time
- Has a quick looper access mode which is really important to me so you can add on any of your pedals to a preset, spontaneity is key
- Extended control of timeline looper (and bank switching, like the DMC stuff does)
- Buffer is bypassable so it wont fuck with fuzz and wah
- 15 presets can somehow be expanded with another midi device or something (wasn't a concern of mine, just something I read on the website, not through email)
I'm sure there are some stuff that people with more knowledge of this type of equipment could add to the pro column here, as well as the cons column, which I haven't started other than the price compared to the PEAK (even though they're different animals). The 15 presets seems like not a lot, but I think it will probably take me awhile to fill those in and I'll be using the quick access mode most of the time anyway.
Side note: In my second year of teaching. I teach inner city kids. Rough batch this year, really busy lately, but starting to get outta the weeds a bit. More free time = more ILF time. So I hope to start posting more again... as if anyone cares
