Hope it's going to be better than Dig Lazarus Dig (probably the only Nick Cave album I don't really like).

That's some great news for sure.

:wha?: Now I'm saying this I feel like we've talked about this before, but whaaaaaat? Fuckin loved Lazarus, I thought it had everything. YMMV of course, but what don't you like about it?

I think... it's du to the fact that Mick Harvey wasn't really important on this record (he's not in the band anymore).
Dig Lazarus Dig to me is more about a musical experience than song writing.
There is a lot more work on arrangements and stuff on other Bad Seeds recordings.

There is more space for Warren Ellis, but I'm not sure it's a good thing.

My favorite are:
-Let Love In
-The Boatman's Call
-Murder Ballads
-No More Shall We Part
-Abatoir Blues / The Lyre of Orpheus
-Henry's Dream
-The First Born is Dead

Interesting, I see what you mean but kind of disagree because I love the songs on lazarus, and the weirder instrumentation and arrangements (very Warren Ellis). As a side note, what do you think of Grinderman? I see that as the Lazarus thing taken even further, and love them.

I like both Grinderman recordings a lot more than Dig Lazarus Dig.

But I still prefer post Dig Lazarus Dig Bad Seeds stuff and The Birthday Party (with the awesome Rowland S. Howard).

But that new video got my attention, there's a good vibe there.

I find it a bit hard to listen to The Birthday Party, although I do like them, I definitely prefer later Seeds stuff. Super excited for this, especially because it probably means a tour, and Nick Cave is always good live.

SO jealous! I would have love to see the No More Shall We Part tour. Love that album. I can see how you wouldn't like Lazarus as much. Personally, I love it, but it is a bit different than the ballads/storytelling stuff. Still very Nick Cave, but a bit different.

I thought Dig Lazarus Dig was the best rock record released in 2008. :idk:

Very excited about this next one.
