Yay! Fun. :D
Amp:
Nice, Solid-state preamp and power amp. Not picky. I'm using BBE > Carvin now. 2 of these. (2 preamps, one stereo power amp, probably).
Cabs:
Bergantino NV610 and NV412.
Effects:
Various Fuzzes/distortions. Basically everything I can get my hands on.
Malekko bright and dark delays with expression pedals.
EHX HOG.
EHX Flanger Hoax, probably. But Small Stone > cheapy DOD flanger is working kinda cool right now.
I basically use any pedal I can get my hands on.
More fun! Bass:
So far, Moser Spawn. w/ Dimarzio Split P and Model J.
No knobs. Just rotary switches. One for each pickup, and one with various filters (high and low pass).
If not, Fender P bass with the same electronics setup. Or, better, Jaguar bass.
SIT Silencer strings.
Ice Pix Copper Flex and Brass, and occasionally some kind of medium gauge plastic pick.
I play noisy progressive, industrial/dance, and indie.

Got two different answers. One for bass, one for guitar:
Bass:
1) Amp - Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0, GK RBX 4 x 10 and 1 x 15 cabs
2) Bass - Wal Mk2 5-string
3) Effects - Every pedal offered by Devi and EHX, plus a Space Echo
*EDIT* - I forgot - all of the Moogerfoogers as well.
4) Strings - Rounds, brand doesn't really matter to me
5) Picks - Any 2.0 mm pick
6) Genre of music you play - mostly electronic / industrial, some Tool-esque experimental metal
Guitar:
1) Amp - Fender Deluxe Reverb x 3 (one for straight signal, two for stereo effects chain)
2) Guitar/Bass/Synth - Gibson ES-355
3) Effects - Every pedal offered by Devi and EHX, plus a Space Echo
*EDIT* - I forgot - all of the Moogerfoogers as well.
4) Strings - .11s, don't care about brand
5) Picks - Any 1.0 mm pick
6) Genre of music you play - mostly electronic / industrial, some Tool-esque experimental metal

1) Amp-
i like my Fender FM100 head, but I guess my ultimate could be a Bassman or a Mig.... something with lots of clean headroom, so when I turn on my fuzz its actually louder than my overdrive pedal.
2) Guitar/Bass-
My Eastwood Hi-Flyer with a Dimebucker in the bridge is great as well as my other guitars:Telecaster, Jazzmaster, SG Classic. I'd really like to add a White Double Cut Les Paul with a single P-90 and a Fender Daphne Blue Mustang.
My Epiphone Thunderbird is fine.....
Acoustic: A Washburn with white neck binding.
3) Effects-
EHX Big box Q-tron-> MXR Blue Box -> EHX Microsynth -> Fender Blender-> Mellowtone Singing Tree-> White Spider-> EHX SMM/H. Extras: Effector 13 AR 33, Wave Graphic Disaster Fuzz, Bass Fuzz, Nuke graphic US, AR OK, AR SM. Dr. Scientist CosmiChorus. My EHX Big Muff with its loose wires and all. EHX Polychorus, no matter how kurt it is.
4) Strings-
I just use Ernie Ball regular Slinkies...
5) Picks- these Yellow Dunlop 500 picks. I think they're 0.77-9 thickness.
6) Genre of music you play- Grunge/Punk/Alternative. Indie/post punk/garage. Acoustic/Ambient/Lo-fi.

1) Amp - Any solid state head into a 4x12 and 2x12/1x15 cabs- I'm using a TB100 halfstack, right now , just need to get the 2x12/ 1x15
2) Guitar - Mary Kay swamp ash Jazzmaster with tortoise shell pickgaurd, Schaller hardtail bridge, Duncan Invader at bridge/ Distortion at neck, toggles to tap both pick-ups and pot to blend instead of a selector switch, ebony fret board on rock maple neck with some decent tuners on a large reverse headstock (Essentially just like the modified Jagmasters I have, only much nicer and pricier)
3) Effects - Copilot Android> Subdecay Noise Box> Devi Ever Rocket> Syle Velcro Fuzz (Just ordered one, actually)>Syle Umiom> Syle Particle Distorter (I really only care for harsh and synthy tones)
4) Strings - An unlimited supply of Webstrings .11-.56 (Which I pretty much already have)
5) Picks - Dunlop 1.0mm Nylon
6) Genre of music - Black metal with some punky, grindy , folky, noisy rock and harsh noise on the side.

White Double Cut Les Paul with a single P-90
I'll second that.
Amp: Orange OR80 head w/ Orange 4x12, Roland Jazz Chorus, Fender Blackface Bassman or Bandmaster combo.
Guitars: I'm pretty good with what I have but I'd take that Double Cutaway Les Paul w/ a p-90. Maybe a Jazzmaster to keep my Jaguar company.
Keys: Mellowtron
Effects: Geez, too many to name...MJM London Fuzz, Watson/Univox superfuzz, Echoplex tape delay unit, Moog MuRF, MI Audio Blues Pro, All the Frantone fuzzes, a vintage Proco Rat, SP Aenima, Dwarfcraft Shiva, Mellowtone Singing Tree, EHX Electric Mistress. Yeah that would keep me happy for awhile.
Strings: DR 8's for the tele, DR 9's for the Jag, DR 10's for the Paul
Picks: Any Medium will do. Preferably orange.

amp: ac30/bogner uberschall
guitar: Gibson Explorer classic white stock/Gibson explorer ebony with bareknuckle miracle man and/or warpig / Fender '52 hot rod tele butterscotch (yum)/Ibanez S5470 Satin Oil for wanking (new ZR trem is mighty tempting but dropping that much on an Ibanez

)
fx in no particular order: devi shoegazer, white spider, dream mangler, mellowtone wolf Computer, dwarfcraft shiva, catalinbread Semaphore, SCOD, EHX SMM/H, micro pog, WMD geiger counter, RMC wizard wah, diamond comp, skreddy screwdriver, Paul C. Tim (arriving in a week or two! believe the hype.)
Strings: slinky skinny top heavy bottoms or slinky hybrids
pick: dunlop tortex yellow/green/blue (whichever of the 3 I find)
genre: All things Rock. I'm a bit of a music schizo, been heavy on the prog past few years, but edging back to some bluesy/jazzy stuff tossed in...new wave polka grunge adult contemporary progressive death metal is a decent description.

A custom esquire w/ a stealth neck p/u would be badass if you got someone to do it right...sometimes they just sound like crappy teles. I love the look though.

Yeah, I found a really good pickup for it. Just a matter of building it now. Fender actually have a custom shop model that they do this with.
Smile Man: Never heard of it?

The pickup under the guard? No, does it affect the sound at all?

The pickguard itself wouldn't, but the distance from the strings could be a problem with really weak pickups.

Amp: Electric Master Volume Unit + Power Unit
Cabs: Emperor 4x15 + 4x12 a pair of them...so like 8x15 8x12 (I just need to track down another 4x12 for that)
Basses: Rickenbacker 4001's Pair of 1976's White + Montezuma Brown (got the white one)
Effects: Moog Freqbox - LP Filter - Phaser - Murf - SD Delay - Control Processor (got all those already

)
Strings: Light Gauge D'adario's
Picks: I don't need no stinkin' picks.
Other: MiniMoog - Fender Jazzmaster - Lightfoot labs goatkeeper - gibson eb-0/3
So essentially I just need a couple of Electrics and another rick and I'm set. the other stuff isn't for the actual setup of my dreams, more just stuff I dream about having.
