HELP w/ Hagstrom Super Swede

Hey dudes! I have a sweet ass Hagy Super Swede. I never ever use the neck pup and want to do away with it all together. How do I wire my axe to only use the bridge pup?

We have a section for Guitar Tech stuff: viewforum.php?f=192

Are you taking the pickup out of the guitar?
Do you plan on keeping all the knobs and the switch? Appropriating them for different functions?

Oh shit! Forgot all about the guitar forum!

I am keeping everything in the guitar incase I ever want to reverse the mod. I just want to kind of "hardwire" the bridge pup.

I'm not 100% sure how the Super Swedes are wired but this SHOULD work:

1) Unsolder, from the 3 way switch, the wire that comes from the Neck Volume Pot.
2) Then connect the newly open lug of the 3 way switch to the lug on the opposite side, leaving the wire from the Bridge Volume Pot connected there also.

You could also just put the switch in the Bridge Pickup only position and not move it.

Is there any way to take out the switch all together and have the bridge pup "always on" but still connected to its volume pot?

Yes, you'd just wire the pickup to the volume pot and then to the output jack.

I couldn't tell you how to do it, but it's possible.

Yeah, even in my last post the Bridge PUP was never disconnected from it's volume pot. The Neck PUP was just disconnected from the switch.

If you want to bypass the switch:
1) Take wire that comes from the Bridge Volume Pot and disconnect it from the switch.
2) Take the wire that comes from the Tip of the Input Jack and disconnect it from the switch.
3) Connect (to each other) the two wires that you have disconnected from the switch.

You could also just put the switch in the Bridge Pickup only position and not move it.

Idea: Cut out the wires from the neck pickup to the switch. Now, you have only bridge pickup, or off.

^This is also an option as long as you aren't worried about accidentally hitting the switch.

If your Swede's anything like mine, you could probably drop the switch into the cavity so it doesn't stick out the top, and maybe even tape it into place so it doesn't switch when thrashing...then all you'd have to do is pull it back up if you wanted to reverse the mod.

You also may notice that it will also be the one that has a wire going from it to the switch.
