because it's a rat
The story:
i think y'all know how i've always loved my Fix'd Fuzz... but ever since i bought the Jazzmaster, i haven't been really happy with it, i liked it better with the tele. So I contacted Schlatte, chatting about fuzz and trying to figure out what to get instead.
as i told him i never really liked to play with distortion because i find it kinda boring, he asked whether i've ever tried a Rat
believe it or not - i haven't
so i asked my friend whether he'd lend me his heavily modified You Dirty Rat because i wasn't happy with my fuzz, he asked about the fuzz and voilá - here was a proposition - we exchange effects and if we like them, he'll give me some cash and we keep each other's pedals
so it happened today and from his messages, i presume this is mine now
from what i grasped, it's been subconsciously modified to being a Rat Tail
it works VERY well with the Jazzy - very beefy but pretty clear. It doesn't like complex chords, but that's because i have it set for a fairly heavy distortion so when i want to and really dig in with the right hand, i get very tight, chuggy palm muting from it, but otherwise, it's still very open with fierce attack and still it has some fuzzy qualities to it
i am pretty excite... can't wait for trying it in a band situation
