I first met Lawrence Ferlinghetti in the City Lights book store in 1965. Later I drank coffee with him when I had liberty in a place called Tea and Sympathy in North Beach, while listening to some good and bad folk singers.
I was in love with the waitress, though the “old guy” was cool because everyone knew him.
I had no Idea he was famous and people envied me cause he let me hang out with him.
