How similar are Dispatch Masters and Ghost Echoes

First, I know there was a similar post not too long ago, but I feel I can justify this one.
So I had a GE a year or two ago, really liked it but wanted longer decay. Went through some "bigger" (longer) reverbs and tended to keep the decay down most of the time (keyword: most).
I'm wondering, how similar can these reverbs sound? Can you keep Ghost Echo-ish sounds by turning the DM time down pretty short with a few repeats. I tended to keep the attack knob down fairly low and I'm not sure I would miss it much.
But is the DM basically a GE without the attack delay artifact thingies? I would be all for a DM for the longer time and the option to remove any delay out of the tail, but only if the reverb tail (minus the attack delay and delay repeats in both) sounds pretty similar.
I remember my GE could get pretty washy at times.
what would yall suggest? TY

The DM can definitely go big but it doesn't sound like the Ghost Echo - I set the Attack on my GE low (not much Dwell either) and just couldn't replicate "that" sound with a DM.

Hey thanks, dude. Do you have a preference (minus the features and capabilities and everything) with just straight sound/tone/whatever? The dm seems kinda airy. in a good way.

I prefer the Ghost Echo but the DM is obviously the more versatile pedal of the two - absolutely nothing wrong with running both of them on your board but there are more versatile EQD delays out there if you already own the GE.

i doubt any two EQD pedals will ever be too similar unless it's simply a newer version of a previous model. they're definitely pretty different, even regardless of the disaster transport's delay. kind of a dark vs. an airy feeling. i imagine why the ghost disaster happened rather than adding a different delay to the transport or something like that.
ghost echo, disaster transport, ghost disaster, supermoon, love 'em all and i have a space, a retroverb and a few other reverbs too.

Funny, I think I have the dwell and attack up on my Ghost Echo and like the kind of ambience it adds to stuff.

to me the demos of the GE and the DM sound quite different...i have a GE which i love and never turn off, varying the Attack and Dwell for different sounds. i'd like a DM as well...they're different enough that both would be useful. and apparently i can never have enough reverb and delay pedals.

that's where the famous "Amen break" that was so ubiquitous in early D&B/jungle comes from.

on the Amen break:

It really depends on how you use reverb. The GE has more of a spring sound while the DM sounds more like plate verb. If you use verb to create a little space in your sound than go with the DM. If you use verb as a stand alone effect and like the spring flavor go with the GE. You'll have much more control over the artifacts and decay. I love my DM, but for reverb fans it won't do enough as a stand alone reverb.

Yes.
I guess.
It's not a belton-brick (hence no attack delay artifact thingies) so by it's nature, even with just the reverb on and no delay, it'll sound different to the GE. Much smoother I suppose...
