Kind of fed up with guitars. All the ay fed up with bass guitar. I feel like a synth bass delivers what I actually want to hear from a bass guitar.
So whatever. Im selling shit. I'm taking a break from my rock band. Gotta get me a Voyager. So, erm watch the BST.

Well if you're pursuing more stuff in the vein of that Head of the Demon thing you posted, I certainly won't be offended. That piece was soooo good, the textures were really moving.

If I could ever sit down with a synth long enough without getting scared of all the knobs I might do the same thing for my shoegaze band. Bass guitar is hard after you've been playing treble stick for so long...

I desperately want to get into analog synth, just so i can do that Allen Ravenstine shit like the first Pere Ubu record. that's an essential part of my shoegaze-concrete concept.

Y'all, every guitarist who was cool had an electronic phase. Just let it happen.

After 30 plus years playin guitar - a few years ago I put the six string down and went deep into synth sound exploration. Basically my effects chain had become a modular synth - took on a life of its own - I finally took advantage of my pedals that had cv - brought in a Grendel drone commander, knas moisturizer, and a few other noisy box things. then dove deeper with an iPad and all its glorious sound bending apps - TC11, csGrain, noisemaker, dm1 etc - it's all so very freeing - especially when runnin this stuff through tube amps and big ass cabs. Wasn't until recently that I started bringing guitar back into my rig - effects like red panda particle, sonic crayon vibrato - are enabling me to produce sounds I want out of my axe. Guitar is a great instrument to go quickly between sound source and controller. Give in to your dark synth side - don't have to give anything up - and you expand yer auricular universe exponentially
Ps - pitch grinder is on my list.

exactly my feeling...sometimes i turn on three or four fuzzes at a high-gain setting and use the resulting hiss as a white-noise generator which i alter with the modulation and filter pedals and tremolo box to simulate all kinds of synthy sounds without even plugging the guitar in. real analog synth is the logical next step. i've wondered more than once if it'd be practical to run a Eurorack modular synth as part of my guitar signal chain.
