Just ran across these awesome looking little 15W tube heads made from old Filmosound film projector loudspeaker amps:

Pretty awesome! I have 1x15 15W tube combo amp made from old RCA 400 projector guts and love it. Really cool to see these heads pop up looking so pro and sounding so good.

I don't get it. He uses an old film projector chassis, and puts an amp in it, looks nothing like a film projector, and it costs a $1K. Sorry, getting all playa haters ball up in here.

I did one years ago for a friend, but we left it looking like a film projector and made special cables for his cab that plugged into the octal speaker connectors on the amp.

Some of those old projectors had small tube amps and microphone inputs in them so that people could narrate along with the films they were showing. So you basically just harvest the amp out of the projector and there ya go. The price is a bit steep in my opinion too, but hey, I'm not the one who's doing the work. I will say this though - I had a local amp tech make me a small combo amp from a garbage picked RCA 400 projector last year, and it sounds awesome! Wasn't that expensive either. The amp itself didn't need any work though, so dude just charged me for his time to harvest it out of the projector and inspect it, and then a bit more for building me the cab and selling me a 15" speaker for it. Love that thing.

At Mars Amps starts the amp building process by reusing a Filmosound chassis, gutting it down to the sockets so none of the original circuit remains and then building a brand new circuit inside

By getting rid of everything, what's the point? It doesn't look like a film projector, and it doesn't even have any of the circuitry of what could be a unique amp. Anyways, I'll stop. I'm just being a dick.
