Just dicking around looking for a good OD, and had to see what the Klon shit was all about.

And just wondering since I jumped on the pedal train a little after, why is the Klon so talked about? It kinda just sounds like plain ol' overdrive to me.

I didn't know the kalamazoo was supposed to be a klon for long time, and always loved.
Still a pretty decent overdrive. Not the best, but pretty solid.

What if somebody built both of these circuits into the same box? Klonamazoo?

I read that as Klon Vs Kazoo.
I'd pick the kazoo. Shit's fun. And annoying as fuck.

Had a Kalamazoo, have a Klone. Both are cool at what they do. The K'zoo had a little too much low end loss, but was nice and punchy. I'd probably like it more now.

I tried using them in similar ways (near-end-of-line boost), and there's...a comparison to be made. Midrange character functions similarly, I'd say. Kalamazoo's more versatile, Klon does the Klon thing better.

I really didn't notice anything happening when I engaged the Klon except my signal was louder and it had a buffer? Even with the drive all the way up, a hot set of pickups does just the same thing for me. Just my two cents

I really liked it with an AC30. What kind of amp were you using?

Ermmmmm I think it was my Valve Junior but I also tried it on my Peavey RockMaster through a 4x12 and didn't really notice anything either, just a boost with a salt and pepper of drive. Or is that the point of it?
