Homemade Amp

A local guy here designed a amp circuit that I was interested in due to it having good clean toanz, so I decided to build it and give it a whirl. Sure enough it does sound pretty good clean (maybe slightly overdriven when at a decent volume).

It has output, trim and gain controls.

It takes pedals really great (demo with fuzz and modulation coming soon)

The dremel got away from me when doing the input jack.... oh well. Might try to fix that.

Future mods include output (for bigger cab, headphones, whatever), power jack, and solar panel for solar power option.

Yeah! It's based on the TBA820M instead of the usual LM386 that is used in almost every cigar box/altoids/small enclosure amp, usually because it requires so few components. What is neat about the TBA820M is that is gives a pretty solid clean tone (in addition to fun distorted toanz) and takes pedals really well. Something I don't think LM386 based amps or even smaller mass market amps like the pignose or honeytone - do very well.

Thanks!

I might make more, we'll have to see. It was a lot of work, but maybe I can make it smoother.

Boss BRS40 4"

I put terminal on the board just in case I want to swap it out without too much hassle in the future. I'm really happy with it!
