NPD - Dirt Transmitter

Picked up a Dirt Transmitter. Holy fudge, it's awesome. It does sputtery 8-bit type stuff and ripping fuzz face type stuff, and covers a ton of ground with the tone knob. Sounds equally good with humbuggies and p90s. Bought it hoping to get some QOTSA toanz and even some Black Keys type fuzzies. Does both extremely well and is dead fucking quiet, which is something that can't be said for the Fix'd side of my Twosome on a lot of settings. These should be on more boards.

I've had a number of fuzz pedals come and go, but this one rules so hard. I love it. Cranked Marshall full stack, with this thing is crushing. I got some crazy synth-like sounds with it on a recording too. Lots of fun.

Seriously one of my favorite pedals I own. So many different unique sounds that cut through in a mix like whoa.

Yep. I had really high expectations, and I'm still extremely impressed with it.

I haven't fallen in love with mine yet (crazy, I know). My amp is pretty dark sounding, maybe it's not a good match?
Still, can't bring myself to sell it...

Could be. While I did fall in love with mine instantly I can see where you're coming from. It's got it's own thing going on though which is why you probably haven't sold it yet.
I like how well it stacks with other dirt and the amount of volume it has is nuts. I actually put mine after all my other dirt and use it to push my amp harder. I can blow mountains down. But by itself is just as good for me.

I used to have one before trading it. I used it the most with the bias down into another fuzz; gets pretty nuts. Other than that I kind of got tired of the way it sounded. I like my fuzzes to be noisy.

I really have to spend more time with it. ALL my EQD dirt seem to sound good together...
Hoof, Tone Reaper, Sound Shank, and Monarch have all done significant time on my board at one point or another. The DT hasn't fit in as well as any of these others, but I haven't given up on it yet.

Have you tried the Fix'd Fuzz? Seems to cover very similar ground and is noisier than the DT.

I have a Dirt Transmitter and love it! I use it for mostly a dark Sabbath/Black Keys type fuzz.
I'm usually running with bias 12, tone 10, dirt 12.
The other dirt pedal in my chain is an Analogman Maxon SD-9 which I use for a SRV Electric-Blues tone and as a clean boost.
Since I sometimes use the Maxon as a clean boost I have it preceding the Dirt Transmitter in the chain.
I've tried to reverse the order of these pedals, but with both engaged the EQD -> Maxon sounds over-modulated and noisier.
Can anyone think of a reason/way to have the EQD earlier in the chain?
Just wondering if I'm missing some tonal possibility.

Transmitter for me sounds best early in chain. It tends to eat up any effects happening before it. Although I do run a micro amp and tremolessence before it with nice results

Trying hard to make this one work for me. What settings are you guys really digging?

Totally love this pedal!
It was my first EQD and now I have four.
DT, Bit Commander, Organizer and Talons.

bias 12
dirt 3
tone 1
level 1, 2ish
in my opinion, there's a lot more sounds in this box than it seems and the bias, dirt, and tone are really dependent on each other.
