I wish some pedal's dc/ac jacks were a little farther away from the input/output jacks. And by a little further I mean as far away as humanly possible.

Just a thought.

million dollar idea:

a pedalboard of made of this and the pedals get their power by just sitting on-top of it. im sure thered be issues with noise and different voltages, lots of bugs and issues. but if someone could do it and it work good, thatd be sick.

oh you mean not sguished right between them
i thought that was a brilliant idea
because right angles work so well with other jacks right next to them

If such a board existed I would also find a way to rehouse all my pedals into cell phones. Maybe put a muff in a rotary phone for the vintage look.

If you can't find a Vorg Warpsound (and you can't, I've tried), full-heel position wah and a big muff will do.

Love that idea. I always thought it'd be neat to rehouse something into an old phone, like one of the old 80ish plain phone like Image
and have it just sit ontop my amp
I'd get a one knob fuzz rehoused into an old rotary phone and use the rotary part as the knob.

I'm pretty sure that this wouldn't work since hammond boxes are pretty much Faraday cages, which is why they are used for pedal enclosures in the first place. It would be pretty easy to make a new baseplate out of a different material so that you don't have a Faraday cage, but then you lose the positive aspects of a Faraday cage, soooo... yeah. Those rechargeable packs with daisy chains are probably going to be the best option for "wireless" solutions. I probably also don't really know what I'm talking about when it comes to physics and I'm kind of derailing this thread, so whatever.

bergen. in ny now

what configuration do you think is best then.
everyone likes top mounted jacks,right
i like the dc jack on th side in the middle
so it drops through the gap in the pedalboard
i dont see a need for them somewhere else
maybe someone with a solid surface board needs somethin different?
or is it a builders issue?

same here, except for the ny part.
i can dig that.
for instance my amt electronics wah has the dc jack right above the input on the side, it just gets in the way.
its more so annoying than anything i suppose. not quite a life threatening issue.

I agree. Maybe even provide a second power jack at a dfferent location for options. If that's even possible...
