inspired by the gear thread.

i think we have more gripes about trends in guitars than we do in pedals, or at least i do.

i like this a lot. i literally cannot fathom how people want so much output that the guitar can't sound clean. its dumb

Vintage-ism:
Relic-ing to look like a vintage guitar, I have no probs with relic-ing if it is from a artistic reasons, why not do someing that doesn't look like something?!?!
hardware that should be updated but is what they had back when.

Blend knobs on basses, two volumes can give you more sounds.

Badly design offset shapes.. yeah yeah yeah offsets are cool but don't make them even more gumbyish...

pet peeve numero uno is fake relic finishes. they need to all die, and the folks that make a living assembling parts guitars and covering up their shoddy "workmanship" by fake-relic-ing the results need to go work the drive-thru.

also gold hardware can just cease to be.

special,special II,gt special,special pro, studio,classic
make a fucking guitar
make it well
the fact that epiphone makes some really shitty guitars
swayed my decision to get somethin else
i wanted a g-400 but
i was real worried i was gonna end up with a lemon
relic=pure unadulterated douchebaggery
its like pre ripped jeans, those old lookin converse with no laces they sell,
$150 wornout motley crue shirts at bloomingdales, etc
in my day we had to work for our filth and tatters

Sunburst strats

black strats with white 'guards

Minariks and other overjizzed guitars (i like PRS mind you)

Fender losing to Squier - come on, you can't just underwound your pickups to make them sound worse, put on 9s and not expect us to realize that high end Squiers are half the price and still well worth buying over the Fender anyway... step up your game, Fender, offer quality product cheaper than say USA std.

not enough offsets

shortage of matching headstocks

Also thissss

And the fact that there just aren't a lot of guitars with interesting controls. Like 2 outputs for the top and bottom 3 strings or one that's all the strings and one that's just the bottom few or even hexaphonic pickups or some crazy shit.
