So I caught literally a song and a half of these guys opening for Pallbearer and they blew me away in that small time. Immediately went back and found their Bandcamp (I woulda bought merch, but they uh... kinda left it on the table and didn't stick around to sell it), and am totally loving the new album On The Wings Of Time.
So amazingly good. Huge riffs, majestic wah breakdowns (without sounding cheesy), excellent little psych bits (flute anyone?), grooving drums and perfectly gruff yet almost melodic(ish) vox. The male singer kind of reminds me of the dude from Coliseum, and the female backing vox add a nice contrast.
I bumped into them later at another bar, and they were totally sweet folks - the bass player apologized for not sticking around. I was talking about them the next day, and someone said "Yeah, they're the nicest anarchists I've ever met."
