I was going to buy some from PPP, but I don't understand their ordering system at all. Just wondering if you guys know of any other places that sell finished enclosures with top mounted jacks. And please don't recommend Mammoth. They suck.

i buy from pedalpartsaustralia which is less than helpful for you..

try 4site, they sell those enclosures to me. i believe they offer painting/drilling too.

You don't understand how to order from PPP and you think Mammoth sucks? Maybe you just don't like the internet?

My last order was through smallbearelec.com and it went fine. Mouser also has a ton (like hundreds/thousands) but unless I was looking at something wrong it seemed like their prices were a bit on the steep side. If they were closer in price to other sites it would be worth it because they ship super fast.

In my experience, I've gotten enclosures from them that have holes misaligned and/or messed up finishes (it looked like someone put on the colored coat, scratched it, then put a clear coat over it. Scratches and all.). I don't know. I've gotten good ones from them, too, but I'd rather deal with a company that isn't such a crapshoot.

Mouser and SmallBear don't finish/predrill their enclosures, do they?

I was going to recommend Mammoth.. I use them exclusively and haven't had a problem. Even their blem enclosures didn't really seem to be that messed up to me

Ordered form Mammoth once about a year ago. I just wanted an undrilled orange sparkle finished 59BB box un-drilled. paint job and the clearcoat was flawed with lots of fish eye effects. I wrote to them and recieved a very dickish response. Something like "we never had any complaints about this before" with no apology or offer to refund or replace. Expensive and run by dicks. I switched to smallbear and PPP. They actually give a crap.

Wow, thanks for the input guys. I'll take that into consideration. Like I said before, I had a great experience with Small Bear so I guess I'll stick with them and check out PPP too. Small Bear has some pre-drilled enclosures but I believe they only have a couple different setups... not sure if they can do anything custom.

You guys know that Mammoth has a Sub Forum here, right?
I would think if you have any issues/questions about them they could help you out there.

When you have a problem like that you need to email them about it and they'll make it right.

I've had so many problems ordering from them but they always make it right for me so I keep shopping with them. The upside is, even though it's annoying, once they send your replacement enclosure you've still got the old blemished one that you can use for a less important project.

I hope nobody reads this and tries to take advantage of them to get free stuff. But by all means if they mess something up let them know and they'll always fix it.

^^^ Yeah, I've heard that before and that is great to know. My worst experience was when I ordered quite a few enclosures from them, and threw them on the shelf for later. Came back to it a couple of weeks later, and was like "WTF?" when I looked at them. I'd feel weird shooting an email to them a couple of weeks later saying the enclosures all wack. That's pretty much my own fault I should've just looked at them when I first got them.

I suppose I can just look at them when they first come In no way do I think Mammoth are bad peeps, just wish the enclosures were more consistent.

Oh, damn. I see that to buy the amount of paint being applied to the enclosure is under the drilled enclosures category. It all makes sense now.

Wow. Weird to hear these problems out of Mammoth. They've messed up orders on me before, but they're always great about fixing it really quick. Now, some of their parts aren't that great of quality... especially cheap jacks and stuff. PedalPartsPlus is the place to go for cheap, good quality jacks.

I have ordered finished enclosures for various things from both Mammoth and PPP. They were both alright, but not great. They tend to be a bit flawed, but nothing terrible so far. It looks like a decent DIY job, generally.

Either way, for bare enclosures, Mammoth is the place if you're down with 4Site enclosures. I've found New Sensor enclosures drill better, but 4Site sands/polishes better. Both Mammoth and PPP are great places, but Mammoth is cheaper, sooooo. If you're order lots of enclosures, 4Site is the place. They're basically Mammoth for larger orders (... actually, I think it's the other way around).

Mammoth rules! Never had issues with them at all! Pedal Parts Plus the same. LOVE those guys!

I'd also recommend Mouser.

Of course I only buy bare enclosures and own a drill press...so the other stuff is a none issue for me.
