Help me spend some money

For the first time in years and years, I'm going to have a little bit of spending money coming my way in the next week or two, somewhere in the 700-1000 range.

Surprisingly, I'm pretty set with my pedz at the moment, my FX are more or less set for my two bands. Help me decide between these options for what I will purchase with this money.

First option is to finally finish my second board (for my originals band) up all proper-like. This would require a PT-Pro, a Cioks Ciokolate and all the cabling. I would probably have enough money left over for another pedal or two, even though I'm not sure what else I'd really use at this point. This is the most practical option.

Second option is to buy a new bass. I've always always wanted a Ric. I don't NEED another bass, as I get by great with my other 2 main ones, this is more of a WANT/vanity purchase. This money won't totally cover a Ric, but it will get me most of the way there, and I could probably charge the rest or borrow it from savings.

Third option is a used Little Phatty or some other analog synth in that price range. For my originals band, we already have a Nord and a Virus, but I've always wanted a really fat and juicy analog.

Fourth option is to start putting together a kick-ass modular synth, probably a Synthesizers.com one. Again, this money won't cover a full one, but it will get me started with quite a few modules and I can slowly add to it as I get more cash with my new job. This is probably the most WANT/vanity option of all of these, since I really don't need a huge and crazy modular system, but FUCK I always wanted one.

What say you all? Feel free to offer other suggestions, although I'm pretty set on choosing between one of these.

I said lil phatty. If it adds another depth and sound its worth it.

Skip the pedalboard thing, that's something you'll eventually put money towards anyway. Why blow fun money on that? The modular synth would scare me because you could keep adding and adding and adding, do you need another potential addiction?

Down to the Ric and Lil Phatty ... I'd get the Ric. If it doesn't replace one of your two main basses and you don't play it enough you can just flip it into a Lil Phatty and you'll have had the Ric experience.

Get a Ric copy (for laughs?) and do pedalboard stuff.

Modular synth, because once you start down that path, you will forever have an excuse to keep buying more gear.

My vote is pedalboard, cabling, power, etc.. It might be boring but it's the most practical. Save any leftover money for the Ric or a Little Phatty. :)

Man, I'm STILL torn on this. Your adding the Lil' Phatty to the list since we last spoke doesn't help either. How about getting a Minotaur?

I voted Ric, simply because I've been in similar situations and not bought said Ric, and i regret it ever so.....

i voted the utilitarian route of pedalboard/psu/cables. i have a shit load of pedz laying around that i don't use, spending the money on the right board and power supply and spending the time to get it all wired up clean made me WAY happier than swapping some pedals in and out.

and i don't like basses. one you love is awesome. murrrrr?

I voted Ric, but personally I would spend this money on a Moog Analog Delay 104M.

Ric.

For the first time (maybe EVAA?) my pedlulz hoarding has calmed down for a few weeks.

Now it's all about the bass. Funny, this thread might push me over the edge to get a Ric too.

RIC.
