GNR record...

officially the worst comeback record I have ever heard... I told my guitar player about it(who is a pretty big fan) and told him that I didn't know who Axl should endorse first; Antares Auto-Tune or dog shit, because both are equally present on the record.
His voice is soooo autotuned that it doesn't even sound like him in lower registers. He just about sounds like Cher on that "Believe" song. Not to mention the production of the record sounds like somewhere between a Faith Hill record and a Maroon 5 record....

I listen to stuff like this and wonder.."did noone actually listen to the songs while they were mixing? did everyone just get so coked out that everything sounded great no matter what? did the engineers just watch TV while they were working..? How the fuck did this piece of dog shit make it all the way through to mastering and out to distribution?"

alot of people round these parts hate the smashing pumpkins, I have to hide the fact that I like them from alot of people sometimes. Almost all of them like GnR though, who I absolutely hate. When I ask people why they hate SP so much, they say its corgan's voice(amongst other things). Well, thats one of the main reasons I hate GnR, not to mention there isn't a single decent person amongst the band(except tommy stinson). As bad as I thought Zeitgeist was, I thank god it didn't turn out like this GnR record. If you haven't heard it yet, don't.

good, I just hope that they don't recoup any of that. I hope they end up apart of the economic crisis.

Rofl... I listened to the title track.

Wow. I knew it would suck, but I didn't really get how much.

I was never a super big fan of GNR, especially Axl Rose. Granted Kurt Cobain was just as big of an asshole I still have to side with nirvana in that battle just because GNR sickens me most of the time.

It's amusing that it turned out bad.

and Cher's "Believe" is the best fucking song ever!

:p

I can see how after working on the same album for 15 years (or however long this took), one might lose their ability to really hear a song objectively and tell whether or not it sucked. And as far as production, it's pretty pathetic that this is what you get for spending millions on a record, though I guess I shouldn't be surprised...over-producing is always bad, and this is the biggest case ever of over-producing. It seems difficult to pour so much money into a record and not have it come out over-produced.

With that being said, this album is unofficially the exact opposite of Bleach.
