I am pumped for Fall this year. Wanting your bestest Fallish music opinions.

For whatever reason I find myself listening to a lot of Neil Young this time of year

that's usually summer music for me...

Codeine
Red House Painters
Low
Opeth (except post ghost reveries shit)

lots of already mentioned stuff plus some creepy shit cause halloween and shit. One of my favorite holidays; shitty scary movies on all month, getting shitty gas station nachos and watching my vhs copy of night of the living dead, staying up all night playing l4d and STALKER, scaring little kids, zombie walks, going to parties and getting fucked up whilst wearing an uncomfortable costume, reading Poe and Lovecraft and listening to dark ambient for hours on end. Plus stealing my brother's candy...I just fucking love October. the other fall months can get fucked

I like generic post rock ala explosions in the fall. But there are some other great recs in this thread. American football

Hazelwould's got the right idea.

I tend to break out Elliott Smith and early DCFC in the fall, too.

+1, and probably because a lot of Neil Young's stuff is very Autumnal. Kinda evokes images of harvested fields, crisp breezes (a la the "cool and breezy" line in Everybody Knows This is Nowhere), and turned leaves. Other Fall faves of mine are King Diamond, various BlAkK Metulz, Fairport Convention, especially "Tam Lin", in which Halloween, shape-shifting, and faerie folk are mentioned. CSNY's Deja Vu, Shudder To Think's Get Your Goat, the first Sabbath album, and Goo by Sonic Youth are all albums I associate with fond memories of Fall. I'm sure there are others that I'll remember and post back when I do. Neat thread :thumb:

EDIT: Dead. Meadow.

OH! I can't believe I forgot my main fall artist.

Buckethead. Buckethead is 100% fall music for me. Pepper's Ghost, Crime Slunk Scene, Elephant Man's Alarm Clock, Giant Robot. So very fall.

Jesu's first album. Good stuff to watch all the trees die to.

This album is the essence of fall to me. It always has been.
