microprocessors.... Satan's semiconductors?

I'm wondering about using a couple of these things in an effects pedal. I've got a white noise program working, and also going to do something cool with a ton of LEDs... I think I'm about to break through that secret wall around microprocessors that excludes any newcomer from learning about them...

But do you have to get the whole unit tested out - officially - for RF emissions before you can sell it?
Who does this testing and how much does it cost?
Does anyone bother doing this?
Am I on a slippery slope to hell??

i would be really surprised if anyone who makes pedals ever thinks about that.

low power circuits dont erally give off much rf anyways?

so I cant use my pedals in hospitals or on airplanes? :P

it shouldn't be a problem. unless you're using a uC with embedded wifi or something?

i dunno,i sort of want my pedals to interfere with other devices. it will probably make them cooler somehow. like a pacemaker with a little bit more mojo after some triple true bypass surgery.
