PCB gurus - do you know what this is? a transformer?

hey.
In my Octavio fuzz pedal there is a component on the PCB I haven't seen before:
the red thingie I left in color while desaturating the rest of the pic.

Can you guys tell me what it is and what it does?

Yep, thats a transformer. I think it's got something to do with the drive of the circuit

I don't totally understand it, but a transformer can be used in octave circuits as part of a full-wave rectifier (that is, the part of the circuit that is responsible for the octave).
