so, I use the little plastic kobicon power jacks in most the things I build. They do what they're supposed and they're priced decently. But they make taking apart pedals for mods/repairs a huge PITA because they get placed through the outside of the enclosure and that means I usually have to either deal with the enclosure dangling about whilst I work on said pedal, or desoldering the jack from the board. Has anyone seen anything to get around this? different jacks perhaps? I don't think I've ever seen ones that bolt on the outside, but maybe I'm not looking hard enough? Any help or snarky comment is awesome and greatly appreciated

Same here. The internal nut jacks are so much nicer looking, but if there is any chance you will have to pull the pedal apart, outside nut is the way to go.
Haha. Outside Nut. Sounds like a punk-porn band.
