weigh in, ILF - this or that?

so I'm thinning my guitar herd again a little bit - already sold one guit, and another is going too. (both of my Eric Johnson Strats.)

now here's the question - spend the dough to get a killer guitar (but really just a super custom version of one I already have), or to get a killer amp unlike any that I have ( a Magic Brit MKII TB86).

I'll still have a radd Telemaster and a radd Strat, plus a pretty decent Jazzmaster. if I get another guitar, I'm leaning towards another Telemaster.
Amp-wise I have a big pile of blackface Fender type amps, and not much else (except a big iron bass/doom amp.)

I'm waffling like mad. whatcha think?

Play whatcha got man! It sounds like you're just getting back ups for your backups at this point. Or save up for that Svart amp you wanted

I've always felt that you can play any guitar, hot or shitty, into a great amp and feel really good about it. As long as you have a great amp and a great fuzzbox, you'll be fine with any old guitar.

Sounds like your guitar collection is pretty fucking sweet as it is!

ha, guitar-wise, it's more like I'm refining what I want and getting the killerest version of those guitars that I can. But yeah, guitar-wise I'm thinking I could be pretty happy just getting to know the Protocaster and Danocaster a little better.

Amp-wise, the Brit is pretty different from anything that I've had. (I could also buy a Swart, but I'm getting more interested in a cool Vox-style amp.) that said...blackface Fenders sure as hell just WORK for me. Thinking it would be cool to vary the ol' tonal palette a bit, though.

That waffle guitar is gross.

Perhaps if I covered it in syrup ... and then smashed it?

Get an amp with a pentode in the preamp. I pretty sure you will dig the width of the additional overtones.
