Just bought a Warwick Corvette Standard bass on e-bay

Warwick Corvette Standard I bought tonight on e-bay. This is the low end of the German made ones. Passive pick-ups. Heavy. Have played a couple at Geetar Center so I know what I am getting into.

I will pray to Lord Pastorius, Bassmaster of the Underworld to bestow upon me the powers of the slap and the pop as now I am merely a lowly guit-strangler.

So what are your favorite DE pedals for bass? WIll I enjoy my War-Cor-Sta (the name I have bestowed on this new being traveling into my life) through my White Spider?

It's chock full of Bubinga, Wenge, and Ovangkol. :omg: :cc=:  :cc=: :omg:

Mom, more Ovangkol, please!

Me and my friends always called it "The Penis Bass."

Nice looking bass.
I'm a Fender guy myself, and not much into different looking basses.
Although I think Jackson should make a Randy Roads, and I kind of like the looks of the Hamer Standard.

You'll have to post some sound samples.

Warwicks are very nice. Very hard to beat in quality, and they sound unique and awesome.

I wouldn't mind one of the Vampyre Dark Lord bassed (tuned F#,B,E,A). Ohhh the thunder..

Congrats on the new bass!

Thanks.

It seemed to be the most solid bass I could get for the money.

Just bumped this up because I liked my original post on this one.

Post a pic in the show your bass thread (it isn't stickied). I play a Warwick Corvette STD. I changed the pickups and electonics. I love it!

What kind of pickups did you put in?

I've thought of replacing them with everything from Lollars to Delanos but have never done it.

I put an ACG/East EQ02 filter based pre-amp (kind of like an Alembic or Wal). I put EMG JX pickups in it. The preamp opens the sound up so much. The pickups don't have the kind of "sterile" sound that some EMGs have.

My Corvette Std never came with the stock pickups (bought it used), and when the EMGs died in it, I put in some active Seymour Duncan Basslines. I found that SD really works better with the woods and inherent growl that Warwicks have. If I'd put anything else in it, it would be a more robust preamp (it's just got a vol-vol-tone right now).
