Soooooo pickups?

Howdy! My first post here!

Anywho, I have an ibanez semihollow that I love to death, it complements my telecaster pretty well. A few months ago it took a nasty fall and the wiring got fucked up. I'm finally getting around to gutting it and figuring out what's up. Tonally it was pretty muddy and pretty ass for two handed tapping or twinkly sounding bits, so I'm considering a pickup swap. My only problem is that I'm not super familiar with semi hollows and how they're affected by output, I run an extremely simple rig, Arc Flash into a Digitech Whammy then into a Traynor Mono Block-B.

I was considering getting a set of BKPs, but I'm a bit afraid that they might be a bit too high output and Lollars are way out of my price range. After that I'm not really sure what's good in the pickup world  I play math rock, midwest twinkle shit emo, and noise rock if that helps at all. I rely on my telecaster for any two hand tapping stuff, but I play in a few different tunings and switching tunings live with just the tele sucks. I'd like to be able to get a fairly clean tone from the ibanez so I don't have to switch as much.

EDIT: Should mention that I use the Ibanez more for huge sounding chords and heavy feedback, I have quite a bit of trouble forcing feedback out of the tele.

ARC FLASH...

Hi, those Ibanez Semi's ( Artcore???) and all Hallows are kinda open and lower midrange woofy sounding... Those BKP's aren't really cheap, I looked at the Holydiver set... Have you considered some random Gibson buckers or what ever they put on the Epi's??? I love the semi hollow / hollow sound but don't own one... I know there are some bro's here that will definitely have better advise, but I'd say also look at swappin the tone and or volume pots out too... :thumb:

I loved the way you described your playin style, wish more people could be as specific...

I love it so much, it sounds great through the Traynor! I was using it with a Vox hybrid but wasn't really digging it through it.

Yep! Pretty alright guitars, tone's not always there but they're alright. I was considering a dirty fingers bridge, but the tone wasn't really there for me. I'm considering throwing a TV Jones in the neck, but again not too keen on pickups haha.

Yalp! Gutting the whole thing, I hate the 4 knob control scheme too much for my tiny brain haha. Thinking about dumping one tone and putting in a killswitch or just dump half the controls

Thanks man! I use to post on sevenstring and the "which pickups should I buy" threads could be pretty bad. I NEED ZOME PICKUPS FOR TEH BR00TL DJENTZ WHAT PICKUPS DO I GETTTTTTTTTTTT??????????????? Great forum, but some of those posts

Email the folks at BKP and give a detailed run down of your rig/sound you want...they are almost always spot on with their recommendations.
Nice folks, amazing pickups.

Also, they have VAT included in their list prices. If you don't live in the EU they take 20% off of the list price when you place your order.

I'd save up for Lollars. I swapped out my Epiphone Sheraton II pickups for Lollar Imperials, with the wires for separate coil splitting on each one, and it's such a better guitar for it :!!!:
