Allright. So I'm probably never gonna build a pedal myself. But I had one built for me and was thinking about getting some artwork done.
So what do you use and how do you use it when you paint your pedals? And how complex motives can be done?

If you want a really elaborate design it may be easier to go with a sticker, but if you look at the hand painted pedals at Fuzzhugger.com that's as complicated as I've seen in terms of hand painted.

Depends what you want. If you can draw it by hand or on the computer, you can usually use a t-shirt transfer. I personally am not in love with that kind of enclosures, so I swirl paint them (greeny23 will probably tell you about it in a minute ) and am looking at etching, though that might be harder; I kinda like the industrial look though.

So, I've got two friends who're interested in drawing some art for my custom builds. One's a cartoonist and the other tattoo artist. D'you guys reckon I do the sticker/shirt transfer thing for that or use some kind of "colouring pens"/brushes? What's the easiest cheapest way to get a sticker or transfer done, if you only want the one of-thing?

what is the most durable type of paint to use?

Perhaps acrylic, as long as you spray a clear coat over the painting the painting should be fine.

Overhead Projector transparencies are always an option...rick at frequency central used to do his stuff with them...I think there's a guide somewhere out there on how he did it.
