Do I need a reverb?

First off, I'm a bass player and I hate reverb. But I've been working on a solo project (loop-based, spacey kind of stuff) and sometimes I wonder if I need reverb. I can cope out a decent tone with my delay, but should I get a reverb? And if so, what kind? The answer seems like it should be the Nimbus, but the $200 pricetag says otherwise.
Talk me in/out of it fellas and Aen's wife.

Yeah I was thinking about that. I don't know if I want my bass to get super washed out, but I'd probably use it when I play high up on the neck anyway.

People on here will prolly get they dinosaur feathers ruffled but the general consensus is reverb on the low end is a no no... Bass keeps the mix together and if it's all washed out and swishy you lose the tightness...

Yeah that's why I've always hated it/never used it. And even on guitar, I never really like it a whole lot. But like I said, solo project so I'm starting to reconsider. Maybe I'll just get the Supermoon.

Depends on your playing style. For slow, drawn-out jank I might like some, but it's not a requirement.
DROANY things, reverb is nice. I usually like extreme reverb more than "just a hint". Yeah, delay can emulate light verb.
I will say that the Iron Ether Nimbus sounds amazing on guitar, perfect for ambiance 'n such. Never tried it on bass, but it blows me away when my friend plays through it.

Dude I just saw your board... There are two delays that could easily do "verb"... Check out some of the Flashback Toneprints...

EVERYONE NEEDS REVERB
I enjoyed the RV-5 with my bass on a subtle hall setting to fatten up the sound. Otherwise I just use my amps spring reverb

if you're doing solo ambient shit, reverb is a must, guitar or bass.
seconding mr. black.

Yes, I think I've concluded that I'll keep an eye out for a Supermoon. I'm on the fence about keeping the Flashback. Sometimes I think it's too much to deal with and would rather just get a more simple delay that I could press a button to send the feedback through the roof. If I could just mod a DD-3 to do that, I'd be in heaven.

While you still have the Flashback check out the DM-3 print... The Lee Ranaldo Trails 1 & 2 are real cool with the delay time real short, and the one called Big Grass does nice verb with the delay down...

I was thinking about this so I loaded the DM-3 tone print and ran the Flashback through a Chk Chk Boom and holly ish... I almost fried my ears and speakers and cat... I feeds back through the roof and then some...

I've been meaning to get a Chk Chk Boom. But I was worried that the Flashback might not work with it. Knowing that it does, I think I'll just pick one of those up instead.
Nevertheless, gonna keep an eye out for a Supermoon!
