Uh, you can't run a guitar or bass into the photo theremin, because it's a fucking theremin

Its an oscillator

WHOAAAAAAA... man.

I guess what I was trying to say WAS... has anyone ran one through their amp? maybe in their effects loop for noise while playing bass or guitar or something.

I had the photo theremin, it's cool. It works well alot of fun to use with pedals, kinda lack luster by it's self, for the price totally worth it. I sold mine because I needed money for something, I can't remember. But, it was super cool when i had it. I'm curious about the oscillator, but haven't tried it.

Cool! What did you run it with/through?

Reverb, delay, phaser, flanger, chorus, and EQ.
The only thing I don't like about it is that the box is similar in build quality to a big box "big muss" or similar pedal. Also that it doesn't come with a battery (9 volt), and when you open it up, everything is right there, i was kinda nervous about not pulling anything loose. The build is awesome, I was just nervous. If you completely cover the photo eye it oscillates, also if you leave it in the middle of the room and switch the lights on and off, i goes super high, super low, super high, super low. It's an awesome toy, but not practical, duh.

The photo theremin comes in around the 58 second mark. Towards the very end you can hear how high it can go, lol. I should also have a clip of their dual oscillator around somewhere.

:) Any amp and fx chain is good, really, as long as it has headroom for some noise input. If You can imagine Your amp taking a few stacked dirt pedals, I guess You can play through that.
