SUPER SIMPLE COIL TAPPING- HELP ME OUT

Alright, so when I get bored I mod shit. Going to coil tap my Jaguar HH.

All I want is two switches (one for each humbucker) that will split them. I've done a Google search and all the schematics have push/pulls and I don't want to screw around with that.

Still want to keep the volume and tone knobs, literally just want to tap the coils. Nothing fancy at all.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks dudes.

I'm too retarded to look at that diagram right now, but if you wanna do it quick n dirty or just see how it would sound you can unscrew the slugs to make a ghetto single coil.

So taking out all the tiny screws makes it a single coil??

Well, the coil from the other half of the pickup is still there so I guess it doesn't have the hum like single coils but yeah the other half is no longer picking up any sound I don't think

Kinda funny that you posted this, I was just thinking of rewiring my SG. But I think I just want to replace the pots with 500k and upgrade the shitty caps.

Do you know what the difference between Gibson's "50s wiring" is and the modern wiring (as far as functionality goes)?

I have no clue about guitars other than I like aluminum necks and humbuckers:( This whole guitar modding thing is totally alien to me. I guess cause I've only ever had two guitars in my life

I think my Jag sounds perfect? But I'm kind of bored and curious to see what single coils sound like with it haha

Yeah I dunno shit about modding guitars except I'm sure we both know how to wire up the electronics just from building pedals. I just don't understand the pickups..

Your Jag does sound really sweet. I came across your YouTube channel last night.. Sounds awesome! A little experimentation is usually fun though. Modded guitars rule.

Yeah duder, it cant be THAT hard to do this shit haha, we make pedals that involve 100x more parts hahah

And thanks dude. I really do enjoy it. I got it used and whoever used it really USED it, so its nice and broken in. It's kind of dark sounding which I REALLY dig, and it's not like a muddy dark, just dark and deep which I enjoy.

I am super into modded guitars, the aesthetic, mods, diy around them. Its amazing to see a guitar with 3 different pickups and 5 knobs and 3 switches its so great

Your videos are super cool. I watched a bunch of them. I really enjoyed the looping videos I watched and the gloom drive sounds awesome.

I just like it when a guitar reflects someone's personality

Thanks dude. It means a lot to me that people actually dig my looping sketches and builds

So what does a series humbucker sound like? does it sound more like a single coil or a humbucker? I have a tele with series/parallel wiring, would it sound like the two single coils in series? I as well have a jaguar HH that I was considering doing a wiring mod on, I didnt know a series humbucker was really an option. Although mine is the classic player Jaguar with the blendable coil splitting knobs. So I was thinking of keeping these and just hooking up a series/parallel switch between the two pickups.

-If I have my series/parallels mixed up just assume series means "the opposite of normal" I'm not totally fluent in this stuff and havent planned out the mod yet. The jag is pretty new and I'm not quite ready to hack into it.

The Ric humbucker on my bass is set up for series/parallel switching, and in series it sounds more mid-scooped with a weaker output. I don't use it much. Mid scoop can fuck off.
The difference in series/parallel would be more discernable with geetar though, I'd imagine.
