fuzz -> filter vs. filter -> fuzz

Dear fuzzlover,
how do you guys like to use it?
fuzz into filter or filter into fuzz?
what do you do with octaver stuff? before or after filter?
I'm thinking how to rearange the first part of my board and i'm not sure...
My pedals are: Second Voice, OctaSynth, Prometheus DLX, Wolf Computer, Pocket Arcade
I would set it up like i wrote it now down but really have no reason - just a feeling, that this may fit the best...
Any help highly appreciated! Thanks.

I like fuzz -> octaver -> fuzz -> filter -> fuzz to be honest
Keep in mind most octavers are /mostly/ monophonic, and work best pre-most things. I like an extra fuzz into it for kicks.
The general consensus (afaik) is octave -> fuzz -> filter for dem synth toanz
Filter sweeps are fun into certain dirts, but a good number of dirts won't sound tooo different post-filter. You gotta have something dynamic and that cuts, and has decent note definition.
I would swap the Prometheus and Pocket Arcade. Or swipe them both from under your nose.

Thanks for the thoughts, guys!
Ok, i think i will go like
Second Voice -> OctaSynth -> Wolf Computer -> Pocket Arcade -> Prometheus -> rest of the board. Will be quite a challenge to fit all on there but i think, it is doable.

In my case, I prefer Pocket Arcade first in the chain.
I put my Unpleasant Surprise before filter (Proteus) and all my other dirt/fuzz after the filter.

This!!!
I run Fuzz Octave Fuzz Filter Rat Filter (with a bunch of other stuff mixed in)
I think it depends on the filter too, my Groove Regulator seems to sit well anywhere my FM4 likes it at the end of the chain (plus I am becoming a stereo junkie)

univalve, how do you like the Prometheus?
I might upgrade my Proteus one of these day.

It depends if you want to filter your fuzz or fuzzify your filter. Seriously.
Running a filter before fuzz (or gain) makes for a more traditional sound. Fuzz into filter, really drives the envelope to produce more resonant vocal peaks that a lot of peeps like for synthy stuff.
I dig it either way, but a little fuzz into a filter that's set with a low threshold makes it throaty - really comes to life. Good stuff.

You got it
I move them around, when I don't have the chain set up with fuzz before AND after everything, like a few others noted.
*forgot to mention - I was messing around yesterday with a ring mod on the breadboard and it sounded so good going into fuzz. I liked it more than fuzz>ringmod.

jepp, ringmod before fuzz is it also for me!
I think that fuzz into filter is for the dirt parts more the sound i will go for. For clean it makes no difference. And i'm not really the funk mouse.
@sylnau: i like the prometheus a lot. There are two on that board. The thing with the prometheus, at least for me, is, that you have an super LFO in there. For autowah stuff i like the DiscumBOBulator a lot more.
Thanks for your thoughts! Always good to get other opinions!

Fuzz->filter->detune->overdrive. I don't see the point of octavers for this purpose. If I need lower notes I just play lower notes.
