well, I did it. Opened up my '65 Jazzmaster for sale/trade. Why? I just can't get with vintage frets, and STRATS. MORE. STRATS. FFFFFFFF.

I've posted my pics before, but here are my strats...
1993 American Standard. The color is called "Caribbean Mist." I replaced all the plastics, put in GFS pickups, shielded it with copper tape, blocked the trem, and replaced all the electronics. Wired as master volume - master tone (no load) - bridge/neck blend. I love that wiring setup.

2011 Standard Strat (Mexi). Arctic white. No mods except swapping in the pickups from my American Standard.

And here are a few more shots:

i wanted a strat ever since i first saw a photo of hendrix with one in 67. i finally got one in 80, a hardtail. supposedly the worst time period, 3-bolt neck, bullet truss rod, etc. but i've had a lot of good memories with this.

then i got another hardtail in 2004. this isn't technically a 50th anniversary model, but it has a special 50th anniversary neck plate. this has a much different feel and tone than the 80--smoother, less spike. i got this because i heard fender was discontinuing hardtails and i wanted another to back up the 80. i avoid whammys if i can. i used to prefer maple boards but i like rosewood now as well.

Old picture, which I'm sure I've posted before but here's my '93 Strat Plus. My first good guitar and my favourite for many, many years but lately I've been playing my ASAT and Hi-Flyer more. But I'll never get rid of the Strat for sentimental reasons.

Not a Strat per se, but this little fellow lives with me.

Indeed it is. Back of the neck is painted yellow too.

Nice, those're pretty sweet (, but I don't like painted necks.)
I wouldn't kick 'er outta bed, but I wouldn't kick an SC-2 outta bed more.

Yeah, I prefer natural or satin finished necks, but I do love the crazy banana stylings of this one.

And YES - this one definitely goes before my SC-2 if push comes to shove. The feel on the SC-2 that I have is just perfect. Sounds killer too. Plus, I find all of the pickup switching options on Strats to be confusing. > Caveman <

Hahaha. Yep. Yet somehow I love the switching craziness on Jags.
