algal bloom question..strange happenings.

ok, so i recently got(for a TOTAL steal) a 1966 gibson GA-5...amazing sounding amp, for sure.. but i have an issue. my algal bloom doesn't always work with it. when the effect is bypassed, it plays through just fine, but when i engage it, nothing, no sound at all.

now having said that, it works every time and sounds fucking amazing through my 1966 kalamazoo model two, great with vox AC-4, and its fucking explosive through my randall solid state. it isn't to say that it never works with my GA-5 and when it does..hot goddamn.

i know there's nothing wrong with the pedal, but i'm just wondering if anybody knows why it is finicky with my GA-5. also, my phantom arcade works every time with the GA-5 and so do my other dirt pedals... all my pedals, actually.

thanks!

Is the amp grounded? (Keep in mind I know next to nothing about electrical stuff...)

no, it isn't.. but my kalamazoo isn't grounded either...i haven't run both of those amps at once, and probably never will.

i mean, i'm not saying that can't be the issue. i'll have to check into something that can eliminate ground issues.
thanks for the reply!

No sweat. You might also post this in the Gear forum. There's more traffic there, and there was just a big discussion about amps and effects and electrical problems there last week.
