I just replaced a really old crustaphonic speaker in my awesome 80's Crate CR-112 with an old Rockford Fosgate Punch X that I got off the curb a few years ago and it KILLS!!! I put it in the closet with some Samson Drum Mics through the Huger and the Come Again and I'm on a Lava Cloud of Sludge Doomgaze Bliss...

What's Yall's take on puttin Car Audio or Consumer Electronic Audio Speakers in Amps for the shits and giggles??? :idk:

If it works, if the impredance match/mismatch is within safe to you levels, and sounds good...go for it.

I like JBL and JBL-copy type guitar speakers which are edging towards hi-fi anyway.

Yes sir... I was lucky that they were both 12" and 8 ohm... It has no high end and really loves the Huger, Pharaoh, Algal, Chalice and Frazz... The gigantic voice coil and vinylness sounds really good at low volume...

I live behind a Goodwill so it's easy to experiment...

i reckon it'd be more likely to work with car audio because those woofers are made to handle insane wattages. if it hasn't already expired in a wisp of acrid grey smoke it'll probably go for awhile :thumb:
