Danelectro Wild Thing
SO I posted a thread before about the Wild Thing but ended up deleting it, but I'm hoping this time people can help me out. There are limited reviews of the Danelectro Wild Thing and I'm looking at buying one. If any of you own or have played one please tell me what you think of them.

Re: Danelectro Wild Thing
Unfortunately, I can't be of any help except to say that the body is based on an old Danelectro design that never made it into production.

Drats. Yeah I have done some research but not a lot of people have first hand experience with one. I love the body and I liked what I've hear from the lipstick pick-ups.

Re: Danelectro Wild Thing
I'd say that if you've played one and liked it, you should just buy it. Even if you don't have a chance to try one out, they're relatively inexpensive and if you decide you don't like it I don't think you'll lose too much money selling it.
I like lipstick pickups. I used to have an old Convertible. Never should've sold it.

Yeah, I'm about 50 bucks short but I can just give plasma and get the cash. I never thought about selling it after if I don't like it, good point.lol
Convertible? Is that another Danelectro model?

Yeah, the Convertible's this one:

Not that I play with a heavy right hand, but the bridge kept moving around on me. It kinda bugged me and I needed money to buy something else.

Re: Danelectro Wild Thing
Yeah, it was a great guitar. Very light and airy sounding, but much like the Danelectro of today, the Danelectro of yore didn't always put out the most bulletproof instruments. I think that bridge was moveable, held down by string pressure. It was just a piece of rosewood and fretwire. There probably would've been some way to get it to stay put if I had kept it, but I had other equipment to acquire. I still wanna get an old Danelectro again. Actually I kinda want a Coral Firefly.

Yeah I saw a few Danelectro/Coral Hornets on Ebay that I would sell my soul for.

Yeah, Hornets are hot. I'm pretty fond of the Wasp as well.

I've never heard of the wasp before. But yeah I am a sucker for odd-vintage bodied guitars. Anything unique I will bust a nut over. But I'm ordering my Wild Thing next week. Getting it flat black,

Nice, I hope it's everything you expect it to be and you're happy with it.
I think the Wasp is the bass version of the Hornet.
Yeah, I like the odd stuff too.

I've heard good things about the guitar version. I really like that it's semi-hollow too, makes it a little lighter. I'm hoping for the best. I think I'm gunna go ahead and order a black Honey Tone with it as well just because it's cheap.
