Expression Pedal
Ok... now it's time to purchase an expression pedal.
Will be usefull with the Superdelay, 4Eyes, FrantaBit, ...
The only one easily available here is the Roland EV5... but I might be able to order a Moog EP2 or the M-Audio EX-P.
Does the EV5 worth the higer price? It's the only one that they have in stock in most music store here.
Which one has the best construction quality: Roland EV5, Moog EP2 or M-Audio EX-P?
Thanks!!

Re: Expression Pedal
I have an EV-5 I haven't been able to destroy, despite extreme neglect and some abuse, since '92 or so.
Works like the day I got it.

Re: Expression Pedal
I hate spending money of things like that... but I feel like I miss something without it, especialy with the FrantaBit.
Pigtronix is 195$... too expensive for home use, and not sure it is compatible with non-pig pedals.

Thru Tone (the guys that do the sweet mod on the Ernie Ball volume pedal) have just announced their expression mod / pedal. That is what I would pick.

Re: Expression Pedal
The Moog EP-2 is a bit different to most other expression pedals. Most let you set the min depth of the pot, whereas the Moog lets you set the max depth. I know that the Xero is designed to work best with the EP-2 - the freq knob sets the lowest frequency when the expression pedal is plugged in, and the knob on the EP-2 lets you set the max freqency range. This really lets you get the most out of the sweep. There may be a similar logic behind some of the functions of the Frantabit.
I dig my Moog, the throw is nice, but the tension on the nut wasn't that great and it hasn't been easy for me to adjust. Gotta go out and buy some toolz.

Moog is good. Seated or standing. What may be interesting for your "at home" playing.
I also have the Boss FV-500-H: Volume Pedal and Expression. Interesting if you like post rock stuff

Re: Expression Pedal
I quite like the moog I have, seems well enough made. No experience with the rest of them though.

Re: Expression Pedal
Thanks!!! I'll think about it.
Purchasing an Expression Pedal is a pain to me.
I could spent the money on something else like an Octasynth.
But I have so much pedal that required the Expression Pedal...
Moog look's cool... but I'd have to order one (not in stock here) and I heard that it has problem with pedal loosing or something.

Re: Expression Pedal
My Moog EP-2 crapped out on me, the pot went bad or something. The sweep range did feel a lot better than the Behringer I ended up replacing it with (which is even more not worth getting, btw). I'm pretty sure behndy has had issues with EP-2's as well. The main issue for me with the Moog is that it has the TRS cable pre-attached to it (or at least mine did), so you're stuck with a predetermined length of cable, and it has a rather bulky straight-end connector instead of a right angle plug, so it can be a real pain to work into a tight board depending on where the expression inputs are on your pedals.

Re: Expression Pedal
Got a Mission recently and like it a lot. Sweep is big enough for me plus it feels solid, whereas the Moog seems to give out after a few months.
Since you have a bunch of exp capable pedals, get yourself one of these, Espressomachine

Same experience as rfurtkamp here. My ~ 20 year old EV-5 works great.

Re: Expression Pedal
Gonna have to pick one of those expressionators up sometime, very cool idea and when I have more than 1 exp controllable pedal it'll be a ballache switching the exp pedal around when I want to use it for different stuff.

Re: Expression Pedal
I also am hankering for a Mission Engineering, but they don't have anything where you can adjust the max throw of the pedal like the Moog, which is now a deal breaker for me as it allows me waaaaay better control over the Xero. And I wantz the expressionator. Dreaming of the following:
Moog > Copilot Broadcast > Expressionator > pedals.
Moog > Copilot Broadcast > Expressionator > pedals.
