I really like that worn/warped sound on the synth in this song. I've heard the sound elsewhere but it's pretty apparent in this song. Could I achieve this kind of effect with a shallow vibrato? If not a vibrato, could you recommend another way to get this kind of sound?

Dude that sounds exactly like an El Capistan with the mix fully wet and the shortest delay time possible with one repeat and some wow & flutter and "tape crinkle" added in. Like EXACTLY like that.

Yeah $300 is pretty steep. A decent vibrato would probably be pretty expensive too.

I have a Cosmichorus (best vibrato evahh) and I have to say, no, you can't get that sound with a vibrato. Unless you're talking about a vibrato with a random mode anyways.. But even then I think you'd only be halfway there

it sounds like the effect combines a pitch drop AND an amplitude (volume) drop. i think you'd need something that does tremolo and vibrato simultaneously, which is to say some kind of ring mod/multi-functional filter pedal. to do that exact thing obviously it'd have to have a really long duty cycle or you'd have to toggle it on/off.
