Preferred Pedalboard Arrangement...

I've been told various ways to set-up pedalboards (tuner>distortion/fuzz>pitchshifters>delay>yadayadayada), and I'm not sure which way is the best way. So what order do you people find more effective when setting up pedals?

Tuner>Fuzz>Fuzz>Fuzz>Reverb

I've often found myself liking a boost and a reverb both before and after fuzz.

Right now my board is set up: Volume-> Fuzz->Fuzz->Buffer->Boost->Delay->Verb

My board is set up, now, as distortion>fuzz>fuzz>volume>chorus>tuner>delay>reverb.
I keep the tuner mid-chain so the buffer doesn't muck about with the fuzz.

I'm thinking about adding a slapback delay at the beginning.

The best way is to mess around with the pedal order until you've found a combination that you're most happy with.

Mine goes boost>distortion>NOISE(which is Clari(not)>2525>M9>Boss PS-5 all in a chk chk boom)>tuner.

Why do people not put tuners at the end? Then you can use them as a whole-board mute.

For all other pedals, commutative property applies.

never once hit my mind, actually... now I think I'll give it a shot!

for me, it's tuner>fuzz>od>boost>feedbackloop(whatever pedals I feel like)>delay>reverb

THIS! I've never understood the preference for tuner first. Plus, my TU-3's buffer could fuck with fuzzes.

I think the theory is that the closer the tuner is to your guitar, the more accurate the reading.

Right.

In my experience, anything shifting pitch or doing any octave work tracks much better at the beginning of a chain.

Pfft, Gated fuzz -> Octave for life.

Not to hijack this already hijacked thread, but does anyone make an octave pedal where you can adjust the accuracy of tracking?

I dont think so. There arent that many octave pedals from what I've seen. I just have my eyes on the Boss Octave
