Oh boy, another MONDO TONES FOR INDY BANDS amp company.
I can barely contain my excitement.
Prices seem fair, but I'm not sure I'd use Kickstarter the way he is.

They seem legit, they revamp old amps and turn them into new doom machines. The heads they've redone look great, and sound nice and thick if you want them to, or nice and clean if you're into that as well

I thought this thread was gonna be about the band.
(IDK why I thought that, especially since this is posted in Gear.)

I've seen his stuff on ebay and the demos sound pretty good.
My biggest concern would be how this guy plans to produce
roughly 50-60 custom amps in the next 6 months.
The only way I can see it working is if people actually go for the
"custom backline" which is doubtful considering it cost twice as much
as it would to just buy it's contents separately.

I'm not sure either. If he's planning on stepping up his game to actual manufacturing instead of just modding, he might be assembling a team?
Some people speculate it's the dude behind MATAMP USA, Joel Wheeler, but Hovercraft and Joel are on opposite coasts

Yeah i thought that too then some bros told me this dude has been around forever. He owns solid cables and only just started selling his amps to the public a little bit ago when he hired some more people about for the cable company or whatever. Ive never handled any of their shit but im told the work is top notch....although im confused about the shit he does. I was under the idea that he took old trashed vintage stuff and rebuilt it to his own specs....but now it looks like hes doing all the shit in-house. Man if i had the money id def throw down 1200 on a or120 clone and a 412. Especially if they turn out looking all sexy with handles and stuff. I really dont think the product is shitty or fly by night. At the very worst you get a mediocre halfstack for cheap.

I'm sure the amps work fine, and like I said, they're reasonably priced.
Still strikes me as trend profiteering, though. Like when Nike jumped into snowboarding a few years back--they hire top notch designers and engineers, but I won't touch their gear with a ten foot pole.

his business model fills a good niche, bringing the prices down on stuff to levels that are affordable to any player looking for more solid gear. Even I with pretty low pricing cant even touch that kind of pricing so he is giving a good tradeoff here for anyone looking for an amp.
As as anything else goes I know very little such as construction methods or setup or anything. have not seen any guts so i dont know anything.

They have a long way to go to meet that $50,000 mark. If I needed a guitar amp and had the bread, I would be down.

Seems pretty cool, as long as they meet their mark.
