Everytime I point out a V shaped guitar everyone I know jumps on them and claims they are disgusting. Why? Has everyone gone insane? Do they not realize true beauty and art when it is in front of them?

i've always thought the original Gibson V was cool as hell. nowadays i'm even warming to the Randy Rhoads and Dave Mustaine kind of guitars, though i'd look as silly with them as Mike Mills playing a Minarik.

Yeah I love the Gibson V. The Rhaods version is sick as Hell also. Everyone I know is hating like crazy on the Flying-V.

They're for a specific kind of Cock Rockin and either you get it or you're a Celine Dion fan...

I like them alot personally.

they are my favorite guitar type for playing sitting down. Straddle the V part against your leg and you're flyin.
True you have to play in a sorta upright position that way but I actually prefer it.

Offset (rhoads) V's are the best because the longer end can be an arm rest (just make sure that strap is on tight ).
I love my rhoads though I've got a love/hate thing with floyds...might have to pick up a hardtail.

i play sitting down a lot so V's are out of the question

You can make a trinagle shaped wedge with wood and cover it with carpet to play the V while sitting if you don't like to play like Gunner Recall described.
I miss my Jackson Kerry King V.
