Are there any flanger pcb's floating around out there? Is it an easy effect to build? Is it best to just buy one?

its usually considered a very complex circuit. requires sensitive parts, a lot of components, and biasing (I think you have to bias most flangers at least).
that being said, there is a byoc kit
heres a link to a pcb that you can buy:
http://www.madbeanpedals.com/projects/index.htmllook for current lover in the modulate section

As Teej said, they're relatively complex. You're basically combining the complexity of an analog delay with an LFO section. But yeah, BYOC sells a kit and according to jrmy, its a fucking awesome flanger, I haven't gotten a chance to try it yet.
Also GGG sells a PCB for an Electric Mistress, although now that I just went to check and make sure, it looks like it's discontinued now. Well shit.

The GGG mistress used SAD1024, which is a pain to get any way.
Madbeans Current Lover is the same Mistress but you can use a 3007 or 3207 BBD and the voume drop is fixed!
He also has the Collosalus coming out now which is a MXR M-117
There's also PCBs for the A/DA but that's hideously complex if you've never built a flanger and even if you have.
Buy one unless you want one specifically.

You can pick up an 80's flanger second hand pretty cheap. Maybe even less than the costing of making one. DOD, Boss, etc. Much easier than building one. Also, a lot of the 80's flangers were really good. I quite like the Korg/Yamaha flangers as they can do some quite whacky sounds.

Yah I asked because I thought it would eb cool to do decade themed pedals, so for the eighties I'd do a metal distortion and a flanger.

Arion Flanger sounds really good if you can find one cheap.
But it's plastic, not metal, so maybe not that durable.

Falgners looks really like a word Lovecraft would have used.
"Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn!"
