Can a jaguar bring on the heavy?

Hey, new member here. And this might seem like a silly question but I was wondering if a Fender Jaguar can be used to make noise rock/hardcore punk type of stufff (the band I'm in sounds a bit like Russian Circles having a baby with Shellac, according to our bassist). I know one of the guys from the Birthday Party used one to great success but I was just wondering if it could produce something much heavier. The single coils might be an issue, anyways, please let me know. My only experience(s) with a Jaguar have been in the clean realm. But I seriously love the sounds I get from them and want to know how much variety they can offer. Thanks for your time and help!

Absolutely they can bring the BROOOTZZ. You just pair that up with some delicious fuzz/distortion and you got it.
Welcome to ILF

My Blacktop Jag sounds so heavy. Through everything. Ever. Do it. The humbuckers are a little overwound to be a little hotter and just make everything sound so perfect.

Go to my site and listen to the demos of my heavier fuzzes. 3.14, Donner Party, Injector. All were done with a single coil Jag.
They can definitely bring the heavy. A different heavy than humbuckers, but still heavy.

For a pretty good example try this:
http://theronaldraygun.bandcamp.com/track/spartacus mostly Jag.
For the greatest example, try Grey Daturas. ONe Jag, one Jazzmaster, all heavy.

i think it depends on the pickups but i think it's silly to limit what a guitar can do. that being said, get the Jag and posts pictures for us all to drool over.

I've used a Baja Tele and a Jazzmaster in a Doom band dropped to B. Sounded great, so I'm assuming a Jag would sound equally massive.
