Just a couple here and there. They'll never give us direct access to all the really great shit.

I bet those are cool guitars, but f-holes on a jag look slightly off to me. I'd have to see one in person/play it before I can really make up my mind on it.

If they were gonna select a line from Fender Japan to bring overseas, couldn't it have been the Bass VIs?

hmmmm. on the one hand, my reaction to mutant Jags in general is a Whole Lotta Meh (bweeeeeeeeeoooowwwwwwwmmmm). on the other, when i consider the effect of the f-hole body on the thinline Telecasters it could be interesting. but then on the prehensile tail (work with me, people) it's an ash-over-alder body, which is going to be brighter than a hospital parking lot. so in conclusion, hmmmmm.

too much going on here for me--the jag is already busy without an f hole. but fender should make these models available worldwide. can the japanese not get u.s. models?

I think they can get them, but they're price jacked.

It's kinda weird...if it were a Jazzmaster I think I would like it more. The jag already has enough stuff going on with the chrome and switchies.

It's funny, the MIJ semihollow Jazzmaster doesn't have f-holes:

These also don't have body contours, but they do have front, back and neck binding...

Bound neck with dots looks super weird to me.

It's like there's just too much going on.

I don't get why they didn't do a Ric type of hole like a surfcaster... doesn't fender own Jackson anyway..?Image

probably because they're sticking with the f-hole design from the thinline Teles. which i agree is a mistake in the Jag design...it doesn't go with the aesthetic at all, does it?
