I'm being offered a G&L Legacy for my Traynor YCS-50

My question is... would I be able to get a Melvins-y tone with the single coil pickups? Would I still be able to bring on the heavy?

Do you think it's worth it? Thanks in advance.

Are you able to play it to hear if you like it?

You can get heavy sounds with anything. What kinds of pedals are you using? What amp? Lots of factors involved.

It's worth it if you think it's worth it.

Sorry, it might have been a silly question. And yeah, I'm pretty sure I can arrange to play it. I'm using a BK Butler Overdrive and NYC Big Muff at the moment for dirt. And then probably a Roland JC-120 as my amp. I'm pretty tempted honestly.

If you play it and like it, do it. Seems like a good trade. You're not gonna sound like Buzzo playing a JC-120 anyway.

Yeah, you're probably right on that one.

For a long time Tony Iommi used P90 style pickups and he always sounded mean as fuck!
