I am thinking about going back to ye old trade up music and tying out the re issued of the marauder. I really liked playing it.
What say you? I know they are made in china but has anyone else played any one of these?

Yeah, I'd at least spend some time playing one before making a decision. They certainly look good (not the white one though).

I did play the viking a couple days back. LOVED how it sounded and looked badass.

Well, if you feel like you played it long enough to know that you LOVED how it sounded, then what's the problem?

i have a deep personal interest in the Viking bass. it's a proper semi-hollow, and it's affordable. just looking at it makes my eyebrows wiggle like Jack Casady.

Not to throw something off topic into the mix (because these Reverends are a good bit more expensive), but I've been wanting to test out one of these ever since they came out:

I get all faggy about short scale basses.
but for a 30in. bass it felt fantastic. I may go depending when I don't feel lazy.

Oh, man, I absolutely love short scale basses.
If it sounds good and feels good, go with it.

Anyway one thing i will caution you about on those reissues is the pickups. As with all reissues of any type of guitar ever they fucking BUTCHERED the pickups. It may not bother you but if youre looking for a classic haggy sound these arent going to get it.
Also another thing i will caution you on is not to purchase them new. The reissues (and even still sometimes the originals) come up used for like 2-500 bucks all day.
Honestly if youre looking for a hagstrom, get this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1972-Black-Hags ... 2ebc0d839e that was a good deal 10 years ago and its still a pretty good deal now.
